Historian Update - August 2023

Hello again from your Chapter Historian,

Congratulations to Mark Snyder for becoming our president for the coming Chapter year.  Also, thank Amy Stadler for the hard work she put in as our Chapter president last year.

Since we are just kicking off the ASHRAE 2023-2024 year, I don’t have much information to present in this newsletter.  However, due to my work schedule not allowing as much time for my role as Historian and the time it deserves, we are looking for someone to take over that position.  Please let me or Mark Snyder know if you are interested.  Our contact information can be in the back of the Breeze newsletter.                       

I have the following goals as Chapter Historian for the Kansas City Chapter.  Hopefully I can get a few of these accomplished this year.  If someone is interested in becoming our Chapter Historian, we can work on these together which would be a great transition.

1. Continue to provide occasional History articles in the KC Chapter Newsletter.
2. Continue to update digital Historical Archives and move to Base Camp. 
3. Interview at least 1 past leader, with goal of a Fellow member.  Any Fellow Member or Past President interested in setting down and providing an oral history of their involvement in ASHRAE, significant projects or products they were involved in designing or any other Chapter history, please contact me. 
4. Provide History of at least 1 system, person, event or Company.    
5. Update Chapter Timeline. 
6. Invite Life Members to at least one meeting in coordination with our Membership Chair again this year. 
7. Have Chapter Historical Activity performed by a DIA member. 
8. Will update historical archive with photos of Chapter meetings and other events.
9. Would like to have a chapter meeting on History topic. 

If anybody has any ideas for historical articles or has any Chapter information or memorabilia you would like to pass on, please let me know.  Looking forward to the 2023 - 2024 Chapter year.
