President's Message - September 2023

Greetings KC ASHRAE Members,

Thank you to everyone that attended our first chapter meeting. There was a lively discussion through ASHRAE's Decarbonization Game with Blake Ellis. Our next meeting will be a back to basics on load calcs which should be equally engaging. 

We are still striving to put FUN in ASHRAE this year. Thats Fun, Universal and New.  We want to emphasize that our events be fun, you have many choices of professional organizations, we want you to want KC ASHRAE to be the most fun. If there is an activity you would like us to do, please contact us we will try to make it happen. Be careful, we may even make you a committee chair for that event. 

Join us at an upcoming event! I look forward to seeing many of you at one of our upcoming events such as: YEA Happy Hour (Sep 28^th), YEA Day at the K (Sep 29^th), our chapter meeting (Oct 2^nd) and our 2nd Annual Volleyball Tournament (Oct 13^th). Add these dates to your calendar, but we are only getting started! We are going to emphasize more and different events this year. One new event we are planning is a student chapter event in Topeka for our three university chapters (KU, KSU and UMKC), remember everyone is welcome at this event. There are several more that are early in the planning stages but aren’t ready to be announced yet.  

We are looking for Committee Chairs! KC ASHRAE can be great for your career, whether you work for an engineering firm, contractor or sales rep. You will make great connections and friends. You can also learn valuable leadership lessons. Please connect with me, or any of our other committee members, if you are interested in learning about our open spots.

New Year – New Website!! We are making traction with our new method of sending out announcements. Please set up a new account, if you haven't done so on www.kcashrae.org. It will also be helpful to add [email protected] to your list of safe senders. This will ensure you receive updates on our events.
